I tried to at least add the server to my favorites and I wasn't able to. When I searched for the server using the IP I just got the same message as the two of you.

game needs a reinforcement system, I got tired of single life games years ago.

It's better than the UT version, I'll give it that. But to me it's too slow to only have one life, pretty much trivializes the shorter range guns.

I wish everyone moved faster. Even as a recon holding down sprint I feel way too slow. I also don't feel like I am firing weapons at people. Something about it just feels off to me.

I'm loving the look and atmosphere of the game, but the rounds last way too long for a 1-life-per-round setup. When I turn away and start watching television after dying in the middle of a match, we've got problems.

I'd love a tutorial too, but I suppose I'll learn by dying over and over. And waiting for minutes and minutes. Unless I quit first, but I hope not.

To be fair, I do suck at the game and you folks who got really hardcore into CS and the like will probably spend a lot less time waiting than me. Still seems off though.

The server I played on had mostly quick matches. The matches that took a little time were usually the best ones with large firefights.

But at the same time, nobody knows the maps or what tactics work, either, so things might just start out slow. When everyone only has one life and they don't know what to do or where to go, it's going to take a long time for matches to end.

it's not really that different from dystopia to be honest. There isn't a huge learning curve.

Oh man, this game is awesome. It feels similar to insurgency, but much less frustrating because you understand why you die. Kinda feel the support class is a bit undercooked, as not being able to sprint, cloak, and having a smaller arsenal is boring.

Had some great matches on a close by server, but the server was having semi-frequent lagspikes, which was a little unfortunate. I was the highest ranked Recon 'till I left, which was nice.

The classes seem fairly balanced, with the Recon's speed and enhanced cloak being countered by the fact that they can be killed by excessive staring.

Also, I don't get music once playing a match - is this normal?

so let's get some feedback going

    I am 107mb into a download now

I keep hearing it's slow, but if that's just rounds lasting too long - well, I'm sure any round-based game can take a while when it first comes out. If you don't know where players are hiding and where to go looking for them, of course it can take a while to find the one player on the other team.

It's a tad map dependent, but a lot of rounds I saw going long were because the teams were trying to find and kill each other instead of capturing the ghost. Firefights are pretty fast and frantic, though there are some TF2 spy like assassinations sometimes.

Yeah everything is WAY too slow.

I feel like im some 90 year old man with a walker.

Apparently in the near future no one can move faster than a crisp crawl.

The objective seems to be somewhat flawed. Whichever team picks up the flag generally gets screwed because it acts as a giant beacon.

Oh and if you haven't tried it, just spawn as assault class with the semi auto rifle/sniper and play the whole round with the night vision on. It turns people into bright orange blobs at any range. Unless someone is stealthed and not moving at all they will show up nice and bright.

Basically felt like I was playing duck hunt with my one shot kill rifle except people moved slower than the ducks and were easier to see.

It's slow and unpolished. The only thing it had going for it was the style and once you see it in motion there isn't much of that. Some of the maps show promise, but they must not have tested them much before release because they're pretty generic and boring.

If you want to play NeoTokyo, then you would probably enjoy Dystopia more. I'm not a huge fan of either mod at this point, but will give NT another go in a few hours.

edit: The weapon selection sucks and I see no reason to include 11 different SMGs that all sound and act the same.

edit2: Support may as well not exist. Once you get hit with a single bullet you become an assault who can't sprint or cloak and moves like a snail frozen to a saltlick.

Knifing is retarded in a game where your enemies don't have collision. Oh, I walked through you! Excerrent.

It's pretty much CS:S. With cloak.

It's fun. Also free. Worth your time. Ignore the people who think it's terrible. Because even if it is, it's free. So, download it, and make your own opinion.

PS: Nerf Support it's too damn awesome in the small maps.

the (support) guns are ultratits though. Like, gamebreakingly awesome.

depending on map size I've found a good strategy to be to take assault or recon until you rank up once, then go support with that newly unlocked gun and field that clear through to LT, then take that huge machine gun.

also, bind vision to something on your mouse (like mouse 3, 4 or 5) and just cycle it every 5-10 seconds.

I like that there's less crazy weapons in this than dystopia, but there's not much seperating a lot of the guns so they should really just streamline the weapon selection a bit. I dunno why people are recommending dys over this considering they're both entirely different games and weapons/tactics are nowhere near the same, so why can't both exist?

There are a lot of stupid little bugs that are completely obvious and really have no excuse to be in there considering how they've been beta testing this thing since like, the dawn of time.

Yeah, but support only gets one unique gun, that last big ass machine gun. From it's clip size and fire rate I assume it is designed for suppression, but I'm not sure how useful it is (at least on the makes I played)

I'm getting the same error. I can't ping the server either (though icmp may be turned off.)

EDIT: OP has the wrong server info. Searched a page back and found the correct address and port, and was able to add to favorites:

super fucking crazy ultra useful. like, kill the entire enemy team useful. I don't think any of the other classes get the MX5, or if they do they get it way later than the support class, and that gun is basically a smaller version of the big ass machine gun.

More time is needed to make informed comparisons about the guns I think. I can't tell the difference between most of the smgs except between silenced and not, but I still feel that support is lacking something special. The assault class has much more versatility than support at the moment.
