Netflix Trials?

I'm thinking about trying Netflix this summer, but all I see are 2 week trials. I seem to remember that they used to be 30 days - does anyone know of any online codes/links that might give a full month? I'd really like to give it a full month to see if I'd really use it enough to justify the cash.

I've only seen two weeks lately, even with being referred.

I might have one lying around if it isn't expired. I'll check when I get home.

Yeah, I only know the two weeks. But I can honestly recommend getting the 5 dollar a month plan regardless just to get access to instant view.

How is the instant view? Is the variety good?

I think so... The movies aren't always that great, but if you don't have cable, the TV shows alone make up the price of it. Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Office (US and British), MythBusters. You also get a decent selection of documentaries.

I think for the unlimited viewing though you need the $9 plan.

[EDIT] Also, about a month back I got coupons to give to friends that gave them a 30 day trial, but I've used them all. They do exist though.

I've had Netflix for about 3 months and there's very little left worth watching on the instant watch to me. It's a lot of B movies.

Instant viewing has some random things but it has a deal with Starz and tends to have whatever movies they are showing at the time. But this does not really add new movies that often.

If Vater is right about the 30-day trials by mail that is what I should have somewhere near my desk. One goes to my parents (I keep forgetting to find it for them) but you are welcome to the other. I'll be able to look in a couple of hours :).

Oh hey, I was wrong. It is 8.99 for unlimited. But between it and Hulu I get plenty of good television. The wife is finishing up season 2 of Dexter, I'm rewatching Avatar and Red Dwarf and will probably check out Jekyll after that. The movies can be lackluster at times but it does have several good gems.

That said try a trial so you can browse through it and see if it's for you.

Sorry OP, it looks like the trials I have expired on June 15th.

Netflix is totally worth it and it sucks that their normal trial is just two weeks, that's not really enough time to get a feel for it.

The 2 week trial is pretty good though. With the DVD's I usually get them in about 1 business day and the streaming is really worth it for me. I re-watch a lot of crap for background noise though.

    NetFlix is just pretty awesome.

You can cancel any time, so there's no real obligation even paying a month's fee to try it out. I've found that anything over the "Two at a Time" plan is overkill, as they ship pretty quickly, and I didn't often find myself needing a backup movie to go with the one I had while waiting for the third to ship.

That's fine - thanks for checking. I did find a 30 day on Blockbuster I may try out before it expires and then try Netflix afterwards - that will take me mid way through this wet, crappy summer anyways!

I know with Blockbuster, you have to pay for a lot of the streaming movies (usually $2-$4), which kind of sucks.

I've The Pixar Story and Spaceballs maybe 2, 3 dozen times each for this reason.
