Random Dizzyness

For the past 3 days, I'll randomly get a bout of extreme dizznyness for about 3-4 minutes. I really have no idea what it could be and I'm still recovering from one as I type this so it probably won't make al ot of sense.

    See your doctor.

It could be just a throat and or ear infection, which can be cleared up pretty easily with the attention of a medical professional. From personal experience, a few years ago I was having dizzy spells with seemingly nothing else wrong with me. Saw my GP and he informed me that I had a throat infection. It was quite suprising as I really hadn't felt anything wrong.

Sorry for the terrible OP'ing, my heads still swimming ATM, but I can at least think a little. Every time it's happened I've been playing on my PS3, also my diet has been really terrible the last couple of weeks. COuld that have anything to do with it?

Yes, poor eating habits could have something to do with it, if you haven't been drinking enough that could do it. But it could also be a medical thing that only your doctor could find out.

Absolutely. Have someone make you eggs and potatoes or something, and drink some orange juice. Do not drive. Do not drink alcohol. Make an appointment to see a doctor ASAP

If it happens when you are playing on your PS3 it might be motion sickness. Or, you might be lightheaded and faint from poor diet. Go get yourself a good meal, with plenty of red meat in it for the iron.

Was going to ask the same. Could be low blood sugar. Get theyself to a doctor post-haste.

You should really see a doctor about it as soon as possible, sudden dizziness is a stroke symptom.

Well I've actually been eating other things besides candy bars the last couple of days and it's not happened to me again, but if it hits me again I will head to the doctor.

Not if it keeps recurring, I believe. Anyway, go, doctor, now! It could be motion sickness....but it could also be low blood pressure, infections, hell, it could even be a tumor pressing on your balance organ. I.e. it is most probably nothing, but it is also nothing you want to fuck around with.

For now, drink plenty, eat plenty of carbs&sugars (Hypoglycemia can do this too) and rest enough (at least 7 hours a night).

I've felt faint before when I have not eaten enough. If you go to doctors with nothing but vague symptoms, all you usually get is a funny look. If it recurs, the OP should go to the doctor.

I get dizzy sometimes, and there's no way to tell if it's the same thing as me, but sleep matters to me. A few days of neglecting proper sleep brings it on for me.

Do you drink coffee/caffeine/energy drinks? A frequent side effect of stimulant over-use is sudden dizziness.

Unfortunately, western cultures frown upon arranged marriages, so the vast majority of people have to take risks in order to get into relationships.

I was dizzy for about five months straight once. Test after test showed nothing wrong. Eventually they found out I had cysts on my ovaries. It could be what you’re eating, it could be your thyroid, it could be inner ear, it could be any number of things. I highly recommend seeing a doctor as soon as possible. Their immediate answers might be dissatisfying but pursue the matter if it continues and you’ll get an answer.

I get bouts of fucking VICIOUS motion sickness when play most FPS and some 3rd person games. I'm talking drooling nausea, shakiness/weakness, tiredness that comes on after about 20mins playtime.

It gets to projectile vomiting if I dont stop as soon as my mouth starts to water, but it can be relieved by taking a nap for 10-30 mins or by taking a drowsiness causing anti histamine. However, I've had this problem since Doom was released so I'd be concerned if it just suddenly started up over the last few days.

Long story short; You have my sympathies, I hope it is just vertigo, but go see a doctor just in case.
Incidentally if you have recently started/stopped or changed any medication, tell the doc as lots of meds can cause this sort of effect (I'm thinking especially of anti-depressant or other psychoactive drugs).

I spent a lot of my grade 12 year in doctor's offices trying to figure out why I was getting dizzy every time I stood up. Turns out I wasn't processing salt properly which led to a blood pressure drop of about 30 points or so every time I went from sitting or lying down to standing (postural hypotension. It sucks.) They gave me some pills that stopped the symptoms but I eventually stopped taking them. I just make sure to eat stuff with lots of salt in it and end up generally fine. Drinking sports drinks seems to help too. I still get dizzy a couple times a day, usually when I first wake up and if it's been too long since I've eaten, but at least I know how to make it stop.

In short, go to a doctor if this keeps up. They may have to poke you with a bunch of needles (I had so much blood drawn while they were trying to figure out what was going on with me) and make you pee in a cup but making the dizziness stop is so worth it.

If you're eating crappy candy it could be a massive blood sugar drop.
