Sound issues on a PC

I do remember there being some nasty issues with that sound card, mostly cause one of my other pcs also has that mobo.
One thing I remember with that mobo was the drivers were very specific. you had to run the ASUS drivers for the thing to be able to work 100%. if you used just the standard nforce ones all kinds of hell would break loose at random.
I don't know if there is a driver version to support vista on ASUS's website... and I can't check right now cause I'm at work and "computer" content sites are blocked... lol... thank god no one here knows about P-A yet.
Although a lot of the bugs have been smashed in Vista I know there is still plenty more work to be done... It may just end up being compatibility issues with that particular board in the end.. if thats the case go pick up a cheap SB card for better support
If it happens in several unrelated games then it's probably just something wonky with the current Vista sound driver.
And from Google it looks like nVidia won't be making a Vista driver for the nForce2 chipset as it isn't supported anymore. Your best bet is to see if they released any drivers for the earlier Vista betas and if they still work.

after a day of trying different things it still seems to no avail.
