Hey guys I remember ages ago I read about a certain manga convention in Japan but I can't remember what it's called. I was wondering whether you could help me out.

It's basically an amateur convention where unpublished mangaka present and sell manga that they have written/drawn and gotten printed by themselves. I think a lot of it may have been fan art type stuff but there was also original work on display.

The convention is Comiket, and the amateur manga is doujinshi. Its closest relatives in the West are zines, the occasional still-existing indie comics, and webcomics.
