Let's Play Indigo Prophecy!
Our good friend Wiki has this to say about it:
In this paranormal thriller, New York City is stunned by a series of mysterious murders that follow the same pattern: ordinary people become possessed and kill absolute strangers in public. In this video game, the main male character must uncover the supernatural forces behind his crime.
A good deal of publicity was generated from the developer's rejection of conventional game genre labeling for the title; Quantic Dream prefers to brand it as the first truly "interactive film" rather than an adventure or third-person action title. This game features a large amount of motion captured animation as well as branching story lines, split screen cameras (used in a manner very similar to the television series 24) and an interface designed to be intuitive and realistic. Event triggers in the game are also mainly time-based, as opposed to the more common player-initiated progression found in most games. A majority of critical reviews were enthusiastic, and considerable praise has been given to the developers for their attempt to reinvent and re-imagine the "adventure game" genre. However, they also mentioned the bizarre plot twists and the seemingly rushed nonsensical nature of the second half of the game.
This will be my first time playing through the game, I don't know if that is a good or bad thing, but feel free to give me advice on the game or the Let's Play in general. I chose it mainly since a lot of people had an interest in seeing someone Let's Play it, so I thought I might as well give it shot.
I know next to nothing about it, other then some hype about an "Interactive Film", so if there are things that I should know for the LP, please spoiler it or send it to me in a PM.
Alright, I'd grovel to you guys for awhile about how I messed up real bad, but hey, I have sets to record. Long story short, I'm restarting the Let's Play, this time for reals.
Let's Play Indigo Prophecy! Set 1:Now with less bad!
Set 2:Saving kids for fun and profit!

I know. The final third of the game is an absolute mindfuck.
Large
then it will end ok.
All I gotta say is o.O
But.. X, what about the hot date?! Do we get hot dates too?
You don't want them.
I'm not sure you could top the sex scene like the SA LP did though. Horrible overdubbing and lots of it.

No, its bad before that.
I can't wait for this.
AS IN MEDIOCRE.
"Okay team, this is how we don't want our games to end." ?
Does it really matter?
I''ve always wanted an LP of this game, so this should be fun.
GM: Rusty Chains (DH Ongoing)
OK one but its a valid point and nothing to do with the story but am i the only one who thinks that Lucas looks far too much like the singer from Savage Garden?
Case in point
Lucas
Yon Dick from savage Garden
Cant just be me can it?
Fun anecdote; the first time I played through this game, I was being watched by all my housemates (one bloke, and three women at the time).
That sex scene was simultaneously the most awkward and most hilarious thing to happen all year.
I mean seriously:
I remember there being some guitar QTE that I think nets one banging and then the black cop one just happens and the last one is a bit weird.
This game had so much potential and I kept playing it but at some point characters / plot appeared out of no where in such a way as to suggest they had been there all along that I had to look up the game on gamefaqs to make sure I didn't miss anything. And I didn't.
I think the writers may have forgotten something.
I'mma keep a real close eye on this
namely that making an interactive cinematic experience means more than wrenching the player brutally through one qte-covered cutscene after another while threatening to kill them if they don't play simon well enough.

It's basically Dragon's Lair + Deja Vu + Leisure Suit Larry.
Which makes the game sound much better than it is.
Much better.
