That's the tongue, dude.
panel 4
and as I've said before I'd love to see a version with larger panels
I'm missing something then, because it looks like to me they're looking right at him and they're not stone.
The fourth panel is really great, best one yet.
they throw rocks at his eyes, then the master ties a scarf around them. In the very last shot they're all over the body, not looking at the eyes (plus it's dying)
In which panel? In the first two it's eyes closed in reaction to being struck by the sword and rocks, and when the scoutleader lunges for'em I suppose he could be averting his eyes, and after that he's been blinded by the cloak. I guess in the final panel it could have turned one of the boys to stone, but they were already dealing it killing blows, so it may have lost it's petrifying powers in death.
edit: oh I have been bested
"Certain Kill!: Boy Brigade Final Strike!"
"Ba'KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!"
What spring does with the cherry trees.
Also I can't wait for Automata
because it ends the bitching or because you weren't a fan?
And the cloak is missing. So maybe it's just me, but I'd think in the time it takes him to do those 4 attacks, one little fuck up and he's looked at and it's over.
Edit: Looks like I'm wrong about this, looking at it again. I missed the boys at the bottom charging into help.
But whatever, this is over, so who cares. A waste of 4 comics.
Is it fire or turn-you-to-stone smoke?
You are terrible and retarded and also wrong.
If nothing else the hairstyles can be used to identify the different characters.
I understand if you are quite young and/or developmentally challenged.
If you're a functional adult, take heart, there are cultures that believe ritual suicide is rewarded in the afterlife.
If only we had more time to flesh out this interesting new world
The first.
Me not really being a fan is irrelevant, since I rarely read the comics anyway. I just like the New Comic threads.
I'll be the first to say I've had an issue identifying some of the characters in the last 3 comics but to say they all look like the scoutmaster during the attack panel seems like a reach. They all have different hair and body types.
Very well done, great colors, love the last panel good times.

"Oh what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!"
Isn't it not over yet?
"And here you go: Page Two of Lookouts, hand-painted by Becky Dreistadt and penned by Oliver Grigsby. Works of this power and sophistication will run Friday, Monday, and Wednesday, at which point you'll be forced to endure our work once again."
From Wednesday's newspost.
I kind of wish it was over, I haven't been a fan, personally. The art style just isn't really my cup o' tea. The way the artist does perspective really just bugs me, and well, the story has been pretty much as generic as it gets. I mean, it hasn't been bad, but it hasn't been good either. I little disappointed that they went the obvious route with today's comic.
it...isn't really taboo. people have been saying they disliked the guest art since the first strip.
I'll reply to you, because you're the only one not being a moron.
The body types fluctuate from panel to panel. The fat kid goes from being fat to not being fat multiple times, through the 3 comics done by this hack of an artist. The red and black haired kid's height fluctuate in much the same manner. The only one drawn with any consistency is the blonde hair kid. Perhaps because he is meant to be the most innocent of the 4.
The tongue/smoke thing that leaves the basilisk is also poorly drawn. What is that? It's not attached, so it can't be a tongue, but it doesn't breath fire, as far as we know, so it can't be smoke or fire or whatever. The only thing I can identify it as is bad.
And the colors are atrocious. Red background on red monster? She chose...poorly. And my previous complaint remains about the drawing of the boys, once you remove the colors, they lose their distinguishing features.
This comic sucks, this artist is a hack, and this writer, well, he writes for Heroes. Nothing more needs to be said there.
That's the red head.
Artist person, don't let any of those douches get you down! This is great work!
