Got poked in the eye.

This isn't a huge deal, I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone else has been poked hard enough to make it bloodshot, and how long these things take to go away. Remember that episode of family guy where Stewie tries to fart (or shit, whatever) and pops a blood vessel? It looks a bit like that, only not as severe and only in about 1/3 of my eye.

I may take a picture of it later if you guys think it'd help clarify what I mean.

It doesn't hurt (though it is tender if I apply pressure - even closing my eyelid too hard - like it's bruised), and I see normally out of it. It really doesn't bother me at all, other than aesthetically.

You probably just popped a capillary. Nothing to worry about. Keep an eye on it (your other one) and go get it checked out if it becomes worse.

You may have scratched the cornea. Unless there is pain or blurred vision you should be ok.

I got hit in the eye with a rubber band gun in high school... I had to have my whole face amputated...

Just kidding. It was red for a few days and then was fine.

Friend of mine did the same during a sparring match a few weeks back. The entire left side of his eyeball was blood-filled. Faded after about 4-5 days, no ill effects. You'll be good.

I was making rockets once in the back yard with some model car fuel, the super high octane crap.
I lit it on fire and the bottle shot off super far, but some of the fuel got in my eye. It was blurry for like a day and went away.

Heh, I took a header on roller-skates (ugh) in high school and popped a blood vessel in my eye. Half of the eye was filled with blood, but it went away a week or so later.

It looked pretty awesome though - nothing says "he's got crazy-eyes" like a burst blood vessel.
