I've seen the Punch Out one and the Plants vs. Zombies music video which seem to be very popular. Are there any other examples of great videos (not necessarily trailers) that took off virally and were actually good?

You know, you are absolutely right. Quick story - my girlfriend doesn't play games at all, not even a little bit. She was walking through the room once just as I booted up this trailer on my 360, and was oddly mesmerised, saying it was cool after watching it.
A few months later, I bought the game and began playing it when she was on the computer just in the next room. That video began playing, and she immediately came into the room having remembered the song and video from months back, and said "Ah, it's THAT game! Wow!" She actually hates Fallout 3 because it it's full of killing and stuff, but the video certainly had an effect and clearly oozes atmosphere. Great teaser indeed, appealing to those who have no interest in games.

Yes that one was very well done. Probably single-handedly launched the franchise from 'shooter' to 'holy crap I need that' for a lot of people.

The Last Day
Most people liked The Last Day better, but personally Rendezvous captures the true spirit of the game better than The Last Day, or even Mad World.
A lot more low tech and not really as good as most of the stuff in this thread. But it impressed the hell out of me when i was a kid.

Yes, this trailer sold me a 360 in those days. Also when it comes to that Halo 3 trailer, I always get goosebumps when the string section of the music comes in...I miss those days, we need some new games that we can anticipate like that again.:^: (actually, are there any that I'm just not thinking of?)
