I just turned my system on and it red ringed. Flipped it off and on and now it seems to be working.
Is this a herald of the end of times? Should I go ahead and call microsoft and send mine in? If I do, will I likely get a newer model back with an HDMI port? Cause I totally want one with HDMI.
Yes, ride it til it won't start outta red ring anymore. Also, I think the chances of you getting an older model are high(since they're the most refurbed). But maybe you'll get lucky?
I'm pretty sure you can just claim red ring warranty on the site too.
Basically, when that happens it means its going downhill and will die within a week to 5 months. Yes. Time well varies but Ive had experience (Im on my fourth console...).
If you send it in you get back the exact same Xbox you sent out. Well. I mean...you dont get back the one you sent in, but you will get one that is an exact copy of what was sent in and thus, no HDMI. However, they will put the new parts in it and it will run smoother and not as loud and probably not break again (unless its slammed or roughhoused with).
