I read some place that US Students could go to other countries and get [college] education for cheap. I googled this a bit but couldn't find anything. My friend said his cousin went to Mexico and got a masters there (including full living expenses) for less then it would cost to get a BA/BS here; but he didn't have to much info on it (he's trying to get his cousins address).
I just want to study, I don't care how 'reputable' a school is as long as I can learn, it's cheap and relatively safe.
Akita International University in Japan. Once you get over the insane price of the plane ticket over there, it's crazy cheap. Check out the tuition/fees page (and remember it's in yen!) http://www.aiu.ac.jp/en/admissions/admissions07.html
You don't need to know any Japanese to study there (I didn't), but you will definitely learn some. Plus the campus is small and friendly, and you're constantly surrounded by crazy gaijin from everywhere. It's awesome.
And it's rural Japan, so you're about as safe as you can get.
