Turning Youtube Video into an MP3 (problem Efficiently Solved)

Need to do this for a soundbite but don't know how to download/get in proper format.

I need to do this for a wedding friday night so any help would be awesome.

    There's a Firefox addon or two that do that... Websites tend to lower the quality substantially from what I've seen.

    Personally, I use the DownloadHelper Firefox extension for downloading the videos.

    As for MP3s, my methods are a bit too complex for the average Windows user. Newer Youtube videos tend to have their audio in the AAC format (particularly the HQ/HD ones), so I just extract those from the container that the video is in so there's no quality loss, most new devices support it, and it sounds better than MP3 at the same bitrate. I consider that ideal if you must have the audio.

    The same thing can be done for older videos that have their audio in the MP3 format, and if the audio is encoded in the AMR format I can dump it to a .wav and encode it to MP3/AAC.
