Monkey Island: Special Edition, the remake, is coming out this wednesday for PC and XBLA. That's it. Tales of Monkey Island episode 1 came out last week

All creature will die and all the things will be broken. That's the law of samurai.
You forgot the Monkey Island remake, but, yeah, not really an interesting week.
Edit: Oh, you didn't forget the PC version. No, it's not out, that's the Telltale episode (Monkey Island 5, essentially)
Which ones are coming out and which aren't? I'm confused by all of the varieties of MI games and platforms.
The remake of the original game will be coming out this week.
The new Monkey Island game by Telltale is an episodic release. The first episode of the new game was released last week and a new one will arrive each month for the next 5 (?) months.
Postman Pat, Postman Pat, Postman Pat and his black and white cap...early in the morning, just as day is dawning, he pick up all the postbags in his van.
I don't even know how you make a video game out of an 80's TV show that not many people remember.

the Badman game, all I know is that Kotaku has been making a big freakin' deal out of it. (Also, thanks for the info Unbreakable, btw :^: At least I know the gist of it now!).
I would be all over the Monkey Island remake, but the rumors about an iphone version are making me wait on it.
I'm curious as well ... honestly, I might end up double-dipping if the game is good enough (and I've the feeling it will be; I've never played the original). I was honestly expecting $15 or $20 on XBLA, so having it drop at $10 and then later picking it up on iPhone for another $10 or so would still feel quite fair to me.
And one week and a month since first I asked, I ask again: Who the hell keeps buying these Nancy Drew games?
EDIT: Christ allmighty wikipedia says that there's 22 of these fucking games out or due shortly for release, with another two Drew games and one for the fucking Hardy Boys slated for later this year. When the hell in the last 30 years have the HD/ND franchies been anything resembling relevent to warrent all of this?

I haven't played it either, but my understanding is that the game's fun is derived mostly from puzzles and funny dialogue, which doesn't scream "replayable" to me.

Horses for courses. I can see why some people don't replay these kinds of games, but I treat them more like books/short stories and tend to enjoy replaying linear games because the experience is still fun for me several times through. Like owning a favorite movie on DVD and watching it every few months, even though you know the dialogue inside and out.
I'm looking forward to Badman. Its kind of got a sim life meets dungeon keeper feel. You build out your dungeon to try to kill the heroes, but you don't make traps or anything, what you do is grow monsters so you have to manage your dungeon's ecology and food chain to grow the bigger ones. Its also fairly funny.
The demo is incredibly small, so if you are curious at all, just download it. (Like 10M)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

Haven't tried it, don't really dig strategy games.
