    My alma mater is actually putting on a production of Streetcar this coming year (I graduated this year :( ). They put on a production of The Glass Menagerie the year before I came there.

    If anyone is interesting in modern playwrights, look into Nicky Silver. He is phenomenal and writes stuff that feels loosely inspired by the collective brain of SE++. I'm thinking specifically of Fat Men In Skirts for that, but still.

    Tracy Letts is my current favorite among contemporary American playwrights. All his shit is fucking fantastic.

    Also I love me some Martin McDonagh (a play of which my former uni is also putting on this coming year. :x ).

    I remember once, in theater class, we had to read the glass menagerie.

    It was the most neurotic piece of shit I'd ever seen. Both when reading it and when watching a video of the stage play.

    Every character in it was a terrible and/or pathetic shithead and I couldn't stand any of htem.
