Question about reporting

Hi, just have a simple question that I can't find an answer to. When you find a spam thread or spambot and report it are you supposed to reply in the thread that it has been reported or not? I know we are not supposed to reply to spam threads but on the other hand you probably don't want one thing getting reported 50 times.

If the abuse reports work the same way as awesome reports, they're all consolidated into one report anyway.

Replying bumps the thread to the top of the list, so it's probably a bad idea

Replying to a thread that is obviously against the rules will incur an infraction more often than not.

The first time a post gets reported, it creates a thread in the infractions forum. Each successive time that post gets reported, it creates a post in the already-existing thread. So, if a post gets reported 2500 times, we will just have a single 100-page thread in the infractions forum for that one post.

Every time you post in a spam thread, it bumps it to the top of the forum. And it is explicitly against the rules to reply to spam threads. So no, having reported them isn't going to get you off the hook for replying to them, especially considering it creates additional work for us.

Anytime you do not get infracted for posting in a spam thread, you are benefitting either from the generosity of one of the mods who still has a heart (there aren't many) and happens to be in an extraordinarily good mood, or a mod who happened to not notice that you replied to it. Equally obnoxious and likely to get you infracted is quoting a spammer who posts in a regular thread, because that means the mod has to fucking manually edit your post, you retard.

Is there any need to be like that? Honestly?
