The Albert Pujols Triple Crown Watch

Baseball's Triple Crown. One of the most difficult single season feats in the game. One player needs to lead their league in three categories; batting average, home runs, and runs batted in. It hasn't been done in over 40 years, the last player to accomplish the feat being Carl Yastremski in 1967 for the Boston Red Sox.

Pujols did not win the triple crown. He did however finish in the top three in each category. He can console himself with his probable MVP award.

Final totals:

Pujols: .327 BA (3rd), 47 home runs (1st), 135 RBI (3rd)

He finished behind Hanley Ramirez (.342) by 15 points in the batting race.
He finished ahead of Prince Fielder (46) by 1 in home runs.
He finished behind Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard (141) in RBI.

Since last making the playoffs in 1992 the Pirates have had a sub .500 record every season since 1993, with a record during that time of 1168-1519 (.435 w%)including this year.

Final record: 62-99

They should just break the tie by whoever hit the longest homer.

Also the guy with a mohawk and a 5 shaved on either side of his head.
