Will this computer...

run WoW on max settings?

I started building a computer for my girlfriend so she could play WoW (hers crashes constantly on nax because its old). She gave me 600 dollars to spend, and I have to get a monitor as well. I started perusing newegg, but then I saw this at my local staples, and I don't think I can beat the price. What I need to know is, if I throw in a $100 PCIe 2.0 card (the mobo is only a 1.1PCIe, but I understand its reverse compatible), will it run WoW on max settings?

Thanks.

    Integrated Graphics?

    I wouldn't buy it.

You might be able to put a card in it but I have no idea what the power supply is like.

Check out the computer build thread, you could build a pretty good machine for $600.

At least a way better machine than that.

Took your advice, went to newegg and bought the midrange components for a build.

My computer is composed of the following -

    Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz
    8GB PC6400
    Radeon 4870 1GB

I run WoW at every possible highest setting at my monitor's native resolution of 1440*900, and the framerate typically hangs around the mid-fifties, often dropping to around 30 or so in very busy areas. WoW is a hell of a demanding game with everything turned up high. I can't see the computer you've listed because Newegg keeps asking me for an area code first, and I live in Ireland, where such things outside of Dublin do not exist.

...and I thought of how all those people died, and what a good death that is. That nobody can blame you for it, because everyone else died along with you, and it is the fault of none, save those who did the killing.

I'm glad you decided to build with that $600, because $600 is enough to build a far, far better gaming machine + monitor than that Dell you found at Staples.
