External HDD makes weird noise

I have had the drive for less than a year and just yesterday it stopped working. The lights turn on but the computer will not recognize it. It makes a spinning noise and then it stops and sounds like it is getting stuck or jammed then it spins for a bout six seconds. It repeats that for a couple minutes then stops.

It is a 500GB Seagate Free agent pro, I tested it on three different computers with the original cables and new cables and it does the same exact thing. Is there any way to fix this? Failing that how do I get my information off? I have a ton of stuff I need off of it.

try taking the actual hard drive out of it and putting it inside your computer or a different external enclosure.

So I talked to tech support and it turns out my hard drive has to be repaired to get the data off of it. Do I have any other options to get the information off of it?
