XboxLive issue

When everything is up and connected ie, the laptop to the xbox with the ethernet cable, a problem arises.

So, here's the deal:

During the test for xboxLive connection it sometimes fails the internet segment of the test, most of the time it passes, but sometimes it fails. However, most of the time it seems to be failing to connect to XboxLive, and when it manages to finally do so, it soon logs-out/losses the connection and takes several attempts to gain the connection there after.

I tried calling XboxLive Support, but they do not offer support regarding bridging.

Also, the laptop never losses conection to the wireless network in the house, and the cable never comes out of the either device, not the laptop nor the xbox itself. And sometimes it says it has lost connection, but when I go to Test Connection it does its test and then it sometimes says that it passes.

What would be causing it to loss the connection so suddenly and so often?
