The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 1 speed problems
I just got On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 1 as a gift over Steam, but when I try to play it my computer lags terribly.
On the first screen that comes up - the one that tells you that you have to agree to the End User License Agreement to play the game - it only registers me moving my cursor or clicking for a split second every half minute or so, at which point the cursor will suddenly jump to where I moved it, and then stay there for half a minute again. After spending several minutes getting my cursor in the right position, clicking on the box to verify that I'd read the End User License Agreement, then moving it again to click on "Play Game", it went to the game's main menu, where I experienced identical difficulties. For some reason, the music plays fine, but the game itself is extremely laggy.
I've no idea what the problem is, since my computer doesn't have this trouble playing games which I assume would be harder to run, like Team Fortress 2 (though it still lags playing that).
Can anyone suggest a solution? I've really no idea what's wrong.
Okay, I've checked the PAA section, and I can't seem to find anything about the problem I'm having.
Here are my computer's specifications:
CPU: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60
CPU speed: 2.01 GHz Performance Rated at 4.22 GHz
System RAM: 2GB
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, 32-bit (Build 6000)
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (GeForce 8400M GS)
Video card driver version: 7.15.11.5665
Free disk space: 11.8GB
Okay, when I try to play Episode 2 it comes up with an almost identical screen at the start asking you to agree to the End User License Agreement, and I have no problems with lag at all. It seems to be specifically Episode 1 that's having problems...

All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.

Does that help at all?
