So, I found this site where you can get mp3 tracks with no vocals, so you can record your own vocals over them. Now I need to find a program where I can start with an mp3 and add a vocal track over it using a USB mic. I know next to nothing about this stuff, so if anyone could steer me in the direction of a FREE and easy program that is capable of this, that would be great. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, just the ability to lay down a vocal track or two over a pre-existing MP3.
Thanks!

Thing with Audacity though, is that it put different tracks slightly out of synch if you record multiple channels on top of each other. Annoyed the fuck out of me at first since I used click-track and everything, believeing it was my shitty timing, until I read some guy using it for webradio recording had the same issues. Other than that it's a great program, ymmv.

You just need a good processor and to close every other program. I haven't had a problem with synching the tracks when its the only thing I have running but, when i just randomly open it to record something, I seem to have those problem.
