So I had to do a reinstall because of some issues with the loading. Anyway, I reinstalled and renamed the computer as I'd been meainig to do, but now my user account is no longer there. How do I recover it?

Generally, the easiest thing to do is to log in on Safe Mode as the administrator, and just pull the old files from that profile and shunt them into the new profile or a public folder on the drive.

Edit: You will want to move the files manually, if you try just copy pasting the "My Documents" folder, it will retain its rights access information, rendering it useless. A second option would be to again login as Admin and rejigger the access controls on the folder. (I havent done it that way myself though.)
