That's one a few things the South produced for which I'm thankful.
Do you include Texas in the South? many people do yet I remain unconvinced.
Kinda-sorta. You guys were technically in the Confederacy and also talk funny, but there are a lot of factors that set Texas as distinct. The dearth of cotton plantations and the whole distinct sovreignty/ Mexico thing are probably the big ones.

Cotton is pretty big in Texas too, dude. Ever heard of the Cotton Bowl?

Honestly, I don't remember the details of the argument, but IIRC it revolved around the idea that either Cotton was less central to the economy of Texas, or else that it developed late enough that slave labor wasn't really required to keep it running.

Formerly Confederate, so yes.
Your definition is rather lacking. Is it based solely on your racist stereotypes or what?
What?

I thought there was more to the South than the whole fought on the losing side in the Civil War. I mean, Texas has been parts of many different nations and stuff. You know, the whole Six Flags thing. I thought maybe you were lumping them with the South because you were uncomfortable with minorities or whatever.

Texas has largely politically and culturally aligned itself with the South, so it's not necessarily just Yankee snobbery asserting this sort of thing.
edit: Which is not to say that I'm not a big fan of Yankee snobery.

Oh, Six Flags; how I miss your sombrero roller-coaster.
IIRC, Texas had a fairly stable cattle industry as well. That's not a small factor for the lack of a larger ratio of slaves than other states. It's proximity to Mexico also brought in skilled migrant workers who could be paid off for a season rather than held in bondage for a whole year, waiting for the next harvest.

Texans are minorities? There are a lot of hispanic immigrants there, sure, but I'm still confused.
Way to be confusing.
There are a lot of minorities here in general. I was trying to figure out which ones in particular you looked your down your nose upon. Sorry for the confusion. I am having a hard time making post these days.

How did you get be a fan of Yankee snobbery? I thought you were from New Mexico or something initially.
I grew up until 4th grade in Florida, and then moved to Oregon. It took until probably until the middle of highschool to really understand that 'the south' was actually still sort of had its own culture since I was from further south than them and I saw approximately zero 'southern' stereotypes in my life.

The North: on top and you know you like it.
On a unrelated note, why am I compelled to grind Castlevania games? It's fucking ridiculous how much effort I'm going to for a cake or some shit.
That is an "oh shit" right there indeed. Looks like he's researching these guys for anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks at a time. That's kind of chilling.
If you want to have your cake and eat it too, then you will grind for it, son.
