The thing about games retroactively adding trophy support, is that they tend to require that the players start a new game, because they cannot give you trophies for things that were accomplished before the patch. The good news for the Disgaea 3 trophies is that none of them are tied to the story, so a new game is not required to earn these trophies. The bad news is, some of them are very time consuming.

that does look like a lot of time wastiness. that said, I still haven't finished the story part of this game. I think I just got bored with it eventually and my wife was getting a bit edgy about listening to the music at the evil academy

I can't imagine that being too healthy for the PS3.

I want to like Disgaea, but the sheer amount of stuff to do overwhelms me. I'm compulsive about 100% completion, and with trophies added to it, I'm scared for the future of myself and my family.

That being said I bought this months ago. It's still sitting on my shelf, unwrapped.

It should be fine. Disgaea 3 isn't a very graphical-intensive game, and people have left their PS3s on for weeks doing nothing but folding without any issues.

Ditto. Put about 8 hours into it then got sidetracked. Fun game though. Well I should say the combat is fun, I couldn't really stand the "zany" story. But yeah, I need to go back to this game.

I actually liked 3 the best. (although to be fair, I haven't played 2 yet)

And looking at some of the trophies made me weep.

At first, I thought the 10,000,000,000 damage one was a total number thing.

    No, it's in one attack.

Yeah, some of them are pretty ridiculous. The 10 counters one is pretty crazy too.

I went through 100 floors of a regular item world yesterday and got a few pirates along the way. I also got lucky and found the mystery room with Axel in it, which is a free trophy.

I need to figure out a good course of action for doing the 1-100 land of carnage item world. I've got 4 characters at 9999: Mao, a majin, a brawler, and a super dimension man. But I still feel really weak in the LoC. And I can't even come close to 10b damage. Pretty sure you gotta make some sort of a gimmick character and cheese some evilities or something to get that.

Yeah, although I was reading somewhere that it was easier to do with reverse damage panels and healers (Flonne and some other stuff that boosts healing a bunch), assuming you have the right healers for it

i bought all of the character packs they were releasing for a while, and theyre probably not worth buying unless youre just an insane fanboy. the competitive mode looked like a lot of fun but i could never get anyone to try it out with me so i never really messed with it. i havent heard one way or the other on set of raspberryl missions they released, but i'll probably pick them up whenever i get back around to playing a bunch of disgaea again.

so really unless youre a huge fan and have played the crap out of everything else i wouldnt say theres anything worth rushing out to get.
