I think they can probably beat San Francisco next week, but I'm not exactly thrilled with their chances against Cincy next week. Although if they can't beat Cincinatti, they really shouldn't be getting too far in the playoffs anyway.
And yeah, KC losing this week was good for Denver, because as long as Denver wins out, the Chiefs can't catch them.
just to make things more complicated, the Chiefs play the Jags the last week of the season. that game could prove to be as important as the Denver-Cincy game next week
and then of course there's the possibility (though slim) that New England loses the East to the Jets. New England's last two games are at Jacksonville and at Tennessee, and they could lose both of them. If the Jets win out at Miami and at home against Oakland (easily possible), the Jets would take the East and New England would fall to a wildcard. the Pats would be 10-6 and have a 6-6 conference record.
what makes this really interesting is if Denver also wins out and Cincy wins out except for Denver, all three are 10-6. and though NE would have the worst conference record of the three, they would make it with Denver and Cincy sits out.

but if you take that and throw Jacksonville in the mix at 10-6 (which would require them to win out), Denver and Cincy advance based on their better conference records. Denver would be fifth seed by virtue of their win over Cincy

Ordinarily this would be classified as heresey, but considering how inconsistent the Pats have been (miami wtf) I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happened.
man, you guys really believe in that superstitious bullshit about the madden curse

You know...I keep seeing the replay of that last INT that Eli threw in the Eagle game. Tiki flails wildly at it and accomplishes nothing...why didn't he just hit the guy who was going to catch it?

He only had a second to try and think what to do. If he would have knocked the ball down, he would have been commended. And if he hit the guy and the dude still caught it, he would have been yelled at for not hitting the ball down.

I know...I'm just bitter.
I'm sorry, i was pulling for the giants too. Stupid fucking Garcia. Why do all quarterbacks who go to Detroit suck balls?

This is the only thing I can think to say about the Lions.

here's the official word
Denver Broncos (8-6) – Currently hold the fifth seed based on better conference record (7-4) than the Bengals (6-4), Jaguars (5-5) and Jets (5-5). Can clinch playoff spot with win, Chiefs loss or tie and Jets loss; or win, Chiefs loss or tie and Jaguars loss.
yeah, and then Green Bay can start planning to make the playoffs again
They're on the bubble right now, granted it's a long shot still though.
Had they played as well as they are now, earlier in the season, they'd have at least 2 more wins. Against New Orleans (who in week 2 wasn't playing like they are now, but they stopped GB's run game completely) and against St. Louis, which was almost a win for GB anyway but in the final seconds STL came strong and smashled Favre and he lost the ball.
and blah blah blah, he lost the game but almost any QB would have lost a ball when being hit like he was, Carson lost one the other night almost like it.

if Cincy wins this week, Denver can clinch next week with a win, a Chiefs loss, and a loss by both the Jags and the Jets
edit - the playoffs are too damn complicated

Even though the Bengals were my beginning of the season superbowl pick.
I like the Colts.
Also, I guess LT better get his records out of the way now because he won't do it next season.
He'll be on the cover of Madden come August.
oh god don't say that
Not if he fucking refuses. I wouldn't go on the cover if I were him. He's on track to become the all-time TD leader.
the way he plays the game, he probably wouldn't go on the cover. at least not without Lorenzo Neal and the O-line. he's way too unselfish.
that said, can the curse screw multiple people at once? i want the Chargers to have an O-line next year
It would be fucking beautiful if they put a kicker on the cover.
Any kicker. That would just be fucking great.

Does anyone else think Hassleback looks like a sex offender?

In the future, when returning a punt, CATCH THE FUCKING BALL prior to running up the field.
Alternatively, feel free to call a fair catch, if you're that worried about being broken by the big ugly mens coming after you.
Thank you. That is all.
and lol @ San Diego for letting him go
Jake Plummer has the sex offender look down with the pedostache.
While I agree they shouldn't have let him go, they are 12-2 without him. I think they ended up just fine.

Good to see.
I know a Colts victory is good for the Chargers. I know it is. But I just can't cheer for Indy.
Huge win here.

will he retire so I can hear about it for weeks on end
because, if I have to deal with that, I hope he just dies of a heart attack so I get something out of it.
