hey everyone, I was just wondering how you are supposed to load pellets into an air rifle? it's a single shot rifle and it doesn't seem to have a clip, so i'm at a loss for how to load this gun.
the ones I have used you kind of "break in half" near where the bolt action would be. Like those grenade launchers. This action cocks back the spring/piston, insert pellet, close it and off you go.
I've only ever seen clip type and break barrel type.
Clip type usually has a lever pump as the foregrip, which pressurizes an air cylinder under the barrel with one or more strokes. A clip slides sideways through the action, a small plastic bold slides forward and pushes the pellet into the barrel. Pulling the trigger releases the air in the cylinder, propelling the pellet.
Break barrel type breaks at the action (just above the trigger), and folds down to a 45 degree angle or so. The hinge action compresses a spring and locks it. The pellet is inserted, and the barrel is straightened to the ready position. Pulling the trigger releases the spring, which pushes a piston, which forces the air out of the cylinder and propels the pellet.
You might also want to look up your specific pellet gun online. If you aren't sure how to load it, the manual might have other important tips for you regarding cleaning and storage. Even if you've used others before, it wouldn't hurt. They can be dangerous.

You break the barrel, you insert the pellet into the action where it breaks.
