In this era of the MP3 player, I'm sure the arcane art of burning compact discs has been left to antiquity. However, I've still been burning CDs using iTunes since my iPod broke. I'd like to know if there's a different program I could use to burn my CDs that would allow the track info (artist names and song names) to be recognized by other computers and CD players (my computer always recognizes the tracks, but other computers do not. Also my CD player occasionally will scroll track info). Thanks for the help.

I thought you had to be reading .mp3s for that to work? I'm not sure. Otherwise you can try these burning programs:
Nero Burning Rom (retail)
LAME MP3 Encoder (free -- google it, preferred by most digital music snobs)
Winamp (free -- google it)
Foobar2k (free -- google it)
Those are all the .mp3 programs I mess with, although I generally still find myself sticking with iTunes.

It can be stored on audio CDs too, it's called CD text
and, hey, the article has some links to burning programs that support it!*
Some audio CD playback programs also check cddb for that info if it isn't present on the disc.
*unfortunately it's basically iTunes, the mentioned winamp (which can burn CDs now in case you haven't used it in a while) and X-CD-Roast which doesn't seem to have a Windows port (there is a Mac version though).
