Making a button on the taskbar disappear

True, this is the opposite of what most people want, but I'm just that special...

We're using a fax program at work that lacks the ability to minimize completely. It minimizes, using the minimize _ button in the program window, to a button on the taskbar, instead of just to an icon over by the clock. Clicking the X to close the window closes the entire program, so that's out too. Here's a quickly MSPainted visual aid:

It doesn't have an option for this anywhere unfortunately. Does anyone know a way to make the button go away, while leaving the icon?

Unfortunately, the application has control over this. Some programs hide the option that allows this somewhere within a labyrinthine menu, but if there isn't an option in the program, then Windows can't do it for you. Sorry.

When I have the program running the icon is always there, as is the button. If I close the window using the X, it closes the program and both the button and icon disappear. It's v3.40 I believe.

Do you run MS Exchange as a network FAX server and should keep it always open? Hide-It is for you!
