have you heard of these guys? not me, but they sure do enjoy calling me

i got a call two days ago from a guy who said he was from this company. he asked if (my name) was there, i said yes. he then said with whom he was calling for (the nafs). i assumed it was about a student loan i just defered. he then said is this (my name) whos last 4 of there Ss is XXXX. those numbers were correct so i said yes.

this guy then gets really rude and snappy toward me and starts telling me how i have a 900 outstanding credit card balance from 03-06. i tell him ive never had a card with the company he mentioned nor have i ever had a credit card in general. he again was very rude about how i was wrong and he was right and started to list of various 'facts' about my credit report and about how they have been trying to get a hold of me since april of this year. i told him this was the first i heard from them and i inquired why it took three years for them to act on a supposed outstanding balance. he said they were an outside agency with whom the credit card company uses to collect debt. he asked if i wanted to dispute the balance and i told him to hold on. it was here i searched the company on google.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=national+action+financial+services&btnG=Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
a. they dont have a website from what i can tell
b. tons of sites like ripoffreport.com have reported on their illegal activties
c. they have had lawsuits filled against them

you can check the link for yourself and read all the negative things about them. i then presented this info to the guy who called me and his responce was that it ment nothing to him. i then asked for his name and he hung up on me.

today i get another call from them from a different number and a different guy. it starts off much the same, is (my name) there? i say yes and ask who it is, he tells me he is calling for nafs and i say, 'sir you called once already, you were misinformed and hung up on me'. then i hung up.

Have any of you guys heard of these people? can they do any harm to me? is it nothing but a scam? what steps do i need to take to make sure i dont get screwed?

Pull your credit report now and make sure that they aren't fucking around with it. Failing that, you might have gotten identity-frauded.

Also, ask them to make all correspondence in writing from this point on, then block the number.

Sounds like an identity theft scam.

Next time they call, contact your phone company to get the number (I'm assuming it was blocked) and then call the police.

Do not give them any of your information no matter how innocent it may seem. If you wanted to "dispute the balance," chances are they would be asking for more of your personal information to do so.

Alright. I just checked my credit report and fuck shit sticks! I GOTS HACKS.

I had more than 1 and less than 10 negative hits since 02. Only 1 of which I know is mine but even that one had charges which I was not aware of. They are all credit card minus 1 which is a power company near where I went to high school that I obviously never had nor my parents. I know 100% for a fact that all minus that 1 which was mine but got messed up somehow are not mine. I disputed them online just now and I am wondering what more action I can take. I saw this on the consumerist, http://makeyournut.com/?p=5 and I want to know basically what addresses can I mail disputes to? And what action in general can I now take?

File a police report for identity theft then call the companies and tell them your identity was stolen and you are disputing the account. Find out where you can fax/mail them a copy of the police report.

If you are in CA they have to immediately close the account if you use the word fraud.
