My ears need some treatment, and you got the medicine (Music Thread)
I've been listening to a lot of I Fight Dragons lately. They're a power pop rock chiptunes band. They actually entered that Imogen Heap vocal remix contest, so one of their mp3s for download is their entry.
(BTW for those that don't know if you go to music.mtv.com you can find pretty much any official video ever made. After finding a billion live performances and shitty fan-made videos on youtube but not finding the real vids I just linked them from there.)
Check out Wilco, The National, Blitzen Trapper, Conor Oberst, M.Ward, She & Him, Fleet Foxes, Matt & Kim, Okkervil River, Ted Leo, and TV on the Radio.
Lots of names to take it, yeah. I work at an indie station, so there's that. Let me know what you like and I'll be your own personal Pandora.

Hmm... have you tried Gaslight Anthem? Kind of a Bruce Springsteen + punk band.
I'm not a big punk fan, so hopefully I'm not sacrificing my music cred, but I like what I've heard of these guys.
You mentioned Iron and Wine. If you like them, and maybe Simon & Garfunkel, check out Good Old War. They are really, really awesome.
When I was a little kid, I always pretended I was the hero,' Skip said.
'Fuck yeah, me too. What little kid ever pretended to be part of the lynch-mob?'
Tool and APC are my go-to bands when nothing fits the bill...
Granted they aren't punk or indy, but you seem to be open to anything, so you never know!
Hell I can go from nappy roots to AC/DC in one sitting
It's not auto-URLing them if they are on the same line as a spoiler tag for some reason. I had that problem with mine.
If you do [SPOILERTAG](URL)[/SPOILERTAG] It's not URLing it.
Just space it so its like
[SPOILERTAG]
(URL)
[/SPOILERTAG]
Seemed to work for me, or just manually URL them.
That worked perfectly, thanks.

Bright Eyes is good too. I would suggest Lifted and Cassadaga as good starting points.
Cassadaga is so underrated. Fantastic album.

Bright Eyes is a waste of money and time, now a good band is Emery, which I saw last night

You can probably let the OP judge for himself, and maybe not be a judgmental tool. If you want to debate the merits of Bright Eyes, you can talk to your cat. This thread is for music suggestions.

I do discuss crappy music with my cat, and he and I both agree that Bright Eyes are the wankers.

Yes, taste is objective and you are the one we should all come to if we have a question about it. I'm sure Oberst is only famous because his shit-ton of fans forgot to ask you if it was okay first.
Going to suggest some Guster, too. Lost and Gone Forever is a classic album.
I don't have time to run around finding links, so I am just going to quickly second At the Drive-In, especially Relationship Of Command, though if you like it I highly recommend you check out some of their older stuff.

I used to love punk, but moved on to metal. Try listening to some Metallica, Danzig, Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.

I can't get enough of these guys. And lucky for me they're local to MA so I get to see them play every so often!
