I had an awesome workout this morning, too.

so many miles and pounds and excellence

I had a fairly sore, bloated swim. Trying out the various mysterious gym machines earlier this week has left with really odd muscle aches from the useless muscles.

At least Mel Brooks never made a Christmas movie. "Springtime for Christmas" would be pushng it just a tad too far.

A Boston police officer who sent a mass e-mail referring to Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. as a "banana-eating jungle monkey" has apologized, saying he's not a racist.
    ...
Barrett used the "jungle monkey" phrase four times, three times referring to Gates and once referring to Abraham's writing as "jungle monkey gibberish."

    fucking hilarious.

I really liked the Diving Bell and the Butterfly, but why it had to go Hollywood as it progressed I do not know.

Also, I'm going to stop reading wikis of movies I watched from now on. It only leads to disappointment.

What's truly hilarious is that it wasn't like a comment to another cop or anything, it was on a mass e-mail chain.

What's funnier to me is that people send the email, then admit to it and say "they didn't mean it that way".

When they should be denying they ever wrote the email. It's easy enough to claim you were spoofed, or someone snuck on your computer. Then you have plausible deniability. But whatever. People are racist AND stupid.

I know, right? The first half hour, up to the feast scene, is fucking beautiful, and is possibly the best cinematography I've ever seen. And then it just turns into a generic feel good movie. I was SO disappointed by that movie.
