After the endless beatdown on our heroes that was ESB, the first 20 minutes of RotJ was absolutely epic. I remember the crowd cheering quite loudly in the theater during the Sarlaac fight.

    Fucking Ewoks.

it wasn't that they were bad, it's that they were pretty much the furry ex machina of the movie. there's nothing wrong with them, it's just how they were used. much like jarjar.

lesson: leave the cute/ethnic aliens in their village. do NOT take them along or expect them to lead you to a lopsided implausible victory against a technologically and numerically superior force.

    They were ridiculously overpowered.

The rebellion struggles for xx years in futility against the empire, but bathmats with spears lead to their undoing? NO.

As obnoxious and borderline racist as the Gungans were, at least they actually lost their fight against the technologically superior enemy.

Picard sucks because everything related to TNG sucks. Well, it would suck if it existed. because the only ST series ever made was the original one.

And I like ewoks because my dog looks like one. And that scene Scarab mentioned. I do agree they shouldn't be in RotJ.

I don't really mind this, I like the idea of a series of games, all tied together directly and intently. Sort of like a good movie trilogy. I just hope we don't get Shenmue'd

well, i got to virmire, and bam if i didn't leave ashley behind to
    die in a nuclear fire.

that done, i checked the lower decks and noticed captain kirrahe and his mans all standing in a row.

what i wanna know is, since ashley was with them, and THEY made it out, why didn't she? unless she died BEFORE the nuclear fire, in which case i'm pissed off because there's no way she's dying to a few geth. ESPECIALLY after i spent time disabling alarms, killin flyers, and in general making their frontal assault a walk in the park :|

still, i think she didn't mind, all in all. she died in battle, defending the galaxy, blaze of glory, etc etc.

kaiden, however, is kinda useless once he gets shot. i had to sling him over my shoulder and carry him on board myself. then again, it's fitting i saved him - cause there's no way he'd be saving himself. FULL-STRENGTH BIOTIC KICK NOTWITHSTANDING.

Because [whoever you sent] wasn't with the Salarians.

They went off alone (maybe with their "team") specifically to take out the last AA gun, they say this in the chatter, and is why you start heading that way to begin with; they're pinned down. At that point they're no longer with Kirrahe and the other duder.

Well it's probably going to suck (game to movie curse or vice versa aside), because whoever they get is going to be someone with no previous movies experience under their belt, and if they do its probably from some really bad or average movie. On top of the fact, they'll not be interested in retelling a game's story/presentation/art style but implementing their own sex fan-fiction.

The problem with the majority of game/tv/whatever movie re-makes is that the director looks at the source material on wikipedia and goes "You know what, I can do this better." Which is why Allan is a teenager in the Thunderbirds movie, Bowser is a human/reptile cross-over and Linkin Park is blaring over the Transformers credits. I'll wait to hear more official news.

So, about the "- Ally" achievements - are there enough assignments to go around outside of the character specific ones? I'm doing a run-through to get the Soldier and Krogan Ally achievements, but Garrus' Dr. Saleon quest has popped up. If I temporarily switch out Ashley or Wrex, will there be enough assignments to go around to get the achievement, or should I just do the assignment with Garrus benched?

Yes, there are enough other missions. That said, I'd recommend you drop out Ashley, because you got her first, so if you skip a bunch of missions you should still be OK.

For anyone other than Ashley/Kaiden you really don't want to skip any assignments unless you have to. You don't need Garrus on the Dr. Saleon quest, though it is more interesting with him there and he acts a little petulant if you do it without him.

Honestly you'll spend so much time getting the achievements that you're really better off not taking your chances. I thought I was going to miss either the Ashley/Kaiden achievement on this run through because I decided to do them together but I got both of them doing Bringing Down the Sky which was literally the only thing left in the galaxy prior to Virmire; I was going to make two saves and do the entirety of the second half of virmire twice in order to get the missions/assignments I needed. It turns out what I needed were Assignments. It would be amazingly frustrating to finish the game and not get one of the allies you were aiming for.

In my experience, anyone other than Liara is an automatic achievement unless you switch characters every other mission. I always switch in Garrus/Wrex for their assignments, and never had a problem. I usually saw my ally achievements before Virmire with a few UCWs left over.

I'm going to hereby refer to the new assassin guy as fishtaco.

    I don't know why, I just am.

Also the new armors don't look vastly more like "armor" than the ME ones do, in my view. Just a lot more detailed. A lot of the Heavy, and some Mediums already looked like "armor" to me, the one(s?) in those screens (really all we see is one krogan and a few of Shepard in the same N7 armor) just look more detailed because of a more optimized engine, not because of a different design.

it is different, there was another shot of it flying in space from a good few threads back, it's way smaller and looks snazzy, but overall same paint-job.

also you know, the trailer shows the sr1 getting blown up, what did you think they would be travelling around in space with, a station wagon?
