After Sunday's season-finale, I thought I'd start up a thread so we can talk about what was good and bad about the first season, as well as what we might and wanna see next season.
For those few who've come late to the party, Metalocalypse is one of Adult Swim's fifteen-minute series and created by Brendon Small (creator of Home Movies) and Tommy Blacha. The series focuses on the lives of Dethklok, a metal band who are famous and popular beyond anything heard or seen of in music history. This popularity allows them some leeway with all the numberous deaths they end up causing by accident during their concerts, on their way to a concert or even seeminglly just sitting at their own home. Their fame however has led to a group of powerful men banding together secretlly against them. Known as the Tribunal, they study Dethklok and the chaos they leave in their wake and plot against them, done as the band not only unknowinglly undermine their grip on the masses, but also might just be the key in a doomsday prophecy mentioned in the first episode.
To help catch up on what's happened so far not to mention all the various characters who've appeared in the twenty-episode first season (and mostly disappeared in a worse shape then they entered), check out this link right here.
I like how they made the band members understandable to people who speak english after the first few episodes. I swear I couldn't make hide nor shit out of what Murderface was saying until like episode 4.
What I don't like is how it started out like they were going to make everything metal, and then they wound up just showing how a lot of everyday stuff is brutal and cruel. Whatever, but I was looking forward to them making boring shit awesome more than them showing how boring shit is already kinda awesome in a macabre way.
I would have to say that I was very pleased with the first season, but as it was said before, earlier in the season they showed longer scenes of the band shredding some awesome metal tunes, but as it got later, it just got gory with less music, I'm hoping that in the next series there will be more music, and possibly they will release an album with longer cuts of the tunes during the first season

There was an answer on that on Dethklok's MySpace site. This is from there via a quoted post from Toonzone's forums since I dunno how to access MySpace well enough.
See what people are calling the best episode of the season.
I will say no more.
But I will answer 3 questions.
1. The DETHALBUM.
We went in the studio on Tuesday to begin laying it down. What to expect: Your favorite songs from the show in FULL LENGTH- No more 1 minute songs with a fade out but FULL LENGTH SONGS in all of their brutality- (with new sections you've never heard). There may be some new surprises on the CD (more to come on that). Also a couple key words in putting the CD together: Gene Hoglan (if you don't know him then do some research and begin buying his entire library). Release date: Summer 07. Yes you will have to wait. But it will be more than worth it. I will leak more info as I have it including track listing etc. . . So start looking fwd to the summer.
2. The DVD. also summer. Yes It's going to kick ass.
3. Is there going to be a second season. I can't tell you. But watch the end of tonight's episode and pay close attention to the last words uttered.
also people ask often about merch. we have it. Go online and find it. It's out there. and there will be much much more of that to come.
On a final note as the season ends I wanted to say you people kick ass, me and toki, skwisgaar, pickles, and murderface appreciate the hell out of you supporting us. THANK YOU. We're gonna see each other soon. Keep supporting all the metal bands out there and help us to make everything metal.
You may now go die,
But don't die too soon,
Nathan Explosion
I'd be quite grateful if anyone who knows MySpace can go and confirm it for me.
This show is so fucking retarded and so fucking awesome at the same time. It's like a chocolate-covered pretzel, both salty and sweet at once, satisfying both my desire for ridiculous/absurd comedy and for genuinely-awesome ass-kicking metal with spikes and pools of blood everywhere for no reason.
I liked it when they bought the historic car for the bass player's birthday and when he didn't like it, one of the members said "but it's got big fat tires and everything!" I laughed at that for a bit.
This show was... Better than I expected it to be... The songs kick complete ass (and I'm not even a metal fan). I can only guess what the next season is going to be like.
Yeah I love how unabashedly brutal some of the gory stuff is. Like when the little dying boy died and his face was all decaying with worms coming out etc...
The best though was when Murderface fell off his bike? or out of his convertible maybe... and scraped his face on the pavement for like.. 30 seconds solid. Wish I could find a GIF of that...
Good: Brutality, the many guest appearences of King Diamond (honestly, the part where he is an expert on endorsement deals is perhaps my favourite part of the show so far), Toki Wartooth, Toki Wartootth turning into Varg Vikness, Skwisgard Skwigelf.
Bad: Murderface. I hope he fucking dies.

I don't remember the exact line, but when Nathan is explaining how they need Murderface, and he says something like "sure we mix all the songs you can't really hear him, but WE NEED HIM!"
