Ok guys, I need art-help....sorta....

Fiancee's birthday is soon, and if you have read the SO thread, you know I luv her (d'awwwww)

anyway.

her bunny chewed the cord of her last tablet to death. Also ate the pen. So I want to get her a new one, because I love her, she needs one, and I MAY be moving 6 hours away for a job.

So- What would you guys recommend? It would also be good if it came bundled with some sort of software and is Mac Compatible (She has OS X if I am not mistaken...her macbook is oldddd I don't know if she has leopard or not)

I REALLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS BUT THE NAME WACOM

HALP

How big was her old one?
Could you see the screen on the tablet while drawing?
    Or what model?

You could always get her a bunny cage, and inside put a card with "Good for one new Wacom tablet" written in it.

@ Gira- I really have no idea...trying to make this a surprise so I can't really ask her

@Matt- Her bunny was IN a cage...he figured out how to open the door and proceeded to eat the tablet...and two phone charger cords.

he kinda looks like this, for reference

    he is pretty evil

    but that is offtopic.

I was looking at the Bamboo tablet from Wacom, but is there anyway to get that with a photoshop software bundle like you can get with the Intuos?

I know she will like the name Bamboo better, as she is a botanist.

The Bamboo is pretty much the low end of the tablets, for the casual user really. How often did she use the old one? Does she do actual work on it or does she just like to draw? I'd say at minimum get her the Medium size Intuos, the 8.8x5x5" one.

Reason I asked was because if she's got a medium/high-end, and you go "Surprise!" with a Bamboo...yeah.
And agreed with Matt; what kind of work she does will help.

She doesn't have...any? I know it was really old as well, and kinda small.

She just draws a lot, and wanted a new one

Well, in that case, you're kind of in the clear whichever one you get her. Like pretty much anything, bigger is better. Basically, get her the one you can afford.
