Tracfone Question - Making Two Into One

So I have a tracfone. I've used it for two years or so. I have the doubleminutes thing in it and I find it pretty classy and usable.

Problem: My screen just got cracked. So I can't really do anything but get calls and if I'm crafty, maybe get to my contacts and call people.

Solution - Part 1: I purchased an identical tracfone. Brand new.

Solution - Part 2: I...merge them?

Solution Obtained.

Basically, I need help with Part 2. Just to know if its possible, because I'm not finding a lot of helpful information on google. Is it possible to transfer the innards (SIM card and whatnot) to new phone so I don't have to deal with a cracked screen anymore, but all my double minutes and stuff are still available to me?

This is my phone as seen on the Tracfone website.

Help me, H/A Community, you're my only hope!

Yeah, I've had it for many years though, so its totally paid for itself several times over...but even though they've dropped the cost of Double Minutes cards to like...25 dollars now, I'd rather not do that and go through the trouble of getting new numbers and all that. I just want to...make my broken phone exterior (the screen) to go away and become the new phone exterior.

I have a tracfone! It looks like your tracfone is runs on a CDMA network and doesn't use a SIM card (think Sprint or Verizon).

It actually looks pretty straight forward to do. You'd log into your tracfone account online, then click on activate/reactivate at the header bars.

From there, there is a clear "Activate my TracFone with a number transferred from another TracFone" option and I would assume that it will walk you through and all you'd need is your ESN/IMEI. When I bought my tracfone, it had a post card in there that had those numbers printed on them.

Since you have no SIM, you can't back up your contacts to it. You may lose them, but so it goes.

based on that link, the doubleminutes thing won't transfer... so you'll have to basically keep using your old phone

the only way i can think of, is to disassemble the old phone, and replace the broken pieces with identical ones from the new one... the LG phones like that one are pretty simple to open up, usually two screws behind some rubber covers, and then a gentle pry around the edges will get the shell to open... then you unscrew as necessary

you'll likely need a tiny torx bit to get it open, however.
