[resolved] Worms 2 on Windows Vista

So yesterday I felt a bit nostalgic for Worms 2. I decided to install it and play a match. Specifically, I decided to install it on my Windows Vista laptop. The installation went without a glitch, but when I try to run it I get an error message "this program has caused runtime to terminate in an unusual way". I've tried changing the compatibility of the executable to run in Windows XP, then Windows 98, but still hit the same problem. Any ideas on how to fix it? I need to kill me some worms!
