A week ago, my 3 year old motherboard goes on an acid trip. Throws CMOS errors when it even bothers to post, etc.
I buy and a new motherboard, CPU, RAM. I'm going from an old Athlon X2 64 something-or-other to an Intel i7. Antec's website has a power supply needs calculator, which recommended a 435 watt PSU. Mine was rated at 550 (3 years ago).
New equipment was installed today in the old box, with the old equipment (cards, HDDs, etc.)
The power supply began to make strange little hissing noises moments after the first power up. The noises are semi-intermittent, occasionally louder, occasionally softer.
The only thing that I can think of was that while cleaning out the case with a can of compressed air, I shot the air into the PSU's fan outlet. Could this have caused any problems?
Thanks for your help.

power supply making noise is trouble, and not worth the risk to the rest of your components.
You might as well get a bigger one now so you won't have to next upgrade.
I've purchased and installed a new power supply. No noises, everything seems to run fine.
