Are Mircrosoft Publisher 2003 files compatable with Publisher 2007? Also...

...are there any major differences in the software? I have Publisher 2003 at home, and my university uses 2007. Id rather use 2003 at home rather than fork out $150+ on a newer version.

Yes, Publisher 2007 will open 2003 files fine. The reverse ain't true however, so make sure if you are saving any files on the university pcs to save them in Publisher 2003 format.

There are ways to open Office 2007 files in Office 2003, but its a load of faffing about - just stick to the 2003 file formats.

This Compatibility Pack is a lot of faffing about? Definitely works for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files... but yeah, that's just for those programs.

However, Publisher 2003 should be able to open and edit Publisher 2007 files just fine, according to this FAQ on the Microsoft site.
