Hey I wasnt sure if this belonged here or G&T, but I figured since I just need a quick answer I'd try here. Im thinking of buying a strategy guide for Twilight Princess, but the only ones around here are the Nintendo Power ones for the Wii. Now, from what I understand the Wii and GC versions are exactly the same, so there shouldnt be a problem with buying this one, correct?
They are not "exactly" the same, the fact that they are completely mirrored means everything is actually completely different, however, if you are a smart guy you can figure it out. Just think of the strategy guide as being from some bizarro world.
scan the pages and flip them if it starts to annoy you.
but the biggest problem would be "go throught the left door to the boss. the door on the right leads to instant unsaveable death"
we have to learn to do the exact opposite of what we read. better off with Gamefaqs, even though there's less (read:none) pictures.
I wanted the strategy guide too, before I read it and saw it could get annoying. It's as if they just stapled the GC stuff to the end of the book because the guy went "Oh shi-, we forgot about GC controls"
And all the maps are at the end of the book. they could have done it better, but whatever.
I cant confirm this but I am told that the mirrored (or non-mirrored?) GameCube versions of the maps are in the back of the guide. Maybe I am misinformed though...
Also just rember its Zelda. Its not too high on difficulty and theres always hearts in strategicly placed pots around the bored. Also I doubt there are any rooms with insta death unless your wandering around with one heart.
Thanks for all the replies. Yeah I forgot about how its mirrored, so that was a good point. I hardly ever follow guides that specifically though, more just for the general idea (like you need to go here next). I think I mostly want it because Im a huge Zelda nerd as well, and feel incomplete without it. Now if only I could track down a Majora's Mask and Wind Waker guide... Anyways thanks again everyone, this can be locked.

You are correct. Prima, if you can find it, also has a GameCube specific guide available.

Apparently someone among my brother's friends beat TP with the player's guide, and he was playing the GC version..
Ingenious.
