If you go werewolf, you put 20 points in that, 20 in lycanthropy and work down the tree to put 20 in fury. Then it's just LOL 20 hits on teh monster LOL. Any weapon with spell effects like frost, lightening, or poison is hilarious as well. You can apply poisons multiple times. You can freeze a mob and smash it instantaneously. When I played there was a rare weapon called the lightsaber that could chain lightening damage based on hit, so with fury you could cause chains of lightening all the fucking time and disintegrate packs of mobs.

Fury can also hit groups of monsters, so you can group them all up and unleash hell. Then you can also dump any remaining points in Oak Sage spirit which gives you a ridiculous health boost to you and your party. Lycan druids are wrecking crews.

Bear Druid's extra life is good for Hardcore if you ever play that way (which you should).

Another thing that's good for hardcore is this video I made to keep you alive in Diablo 2:

What's d2loader? Also, has anyone heard of a multiplayer-mod called Eastern Sun? Heard about it while looking up D2-info. Seems to overhaul the game quite a bit but I'm not much of a mod-person unless it's really good.

The problem with this and most other builds is that hell sucks.

I know, my druid is hurting.

Sorry if I haven't been on much but I've been trying out a couple of different classes, the Necromancer and Assassin. With the former, I'm trying to see how an all Skeleton-crew works out, having put enough points to have 5 regular and 2 Magi running around with me and my Rogue hireling so far. Also got a Wand that lets me have a point in Skeleton Mastery so far. I also put a point in Amplify Damage to work my way down eventually to Decrepify. Is there anything I should prioritize first besides filling out my Skeleton ranks?

Not really. To get your levelling going you should get maybe 5 points into corpse explosion too; but other than that you just need to work raise skeleton up to 20, then skeleton mastery up to 20. And one point in all the other summon skills.

Amp damage should be your main curse, with decrepify as a bit of a backup. I also liked terror for saving my hireling from bad situations. Basically you have one point in every curse and you're all set. Later your gear will boost their range and duration. I am currently going to put a few more points into amp damage just for the sake of having a wider radius, saving me having to cast it a dozen times to cover a group of monsters.

Anyway have a read of this guide! I was reading it today and it seems pretty good. I don't have any good gear yet as this is my first character since rejoining the game (all my old ones expired and got deleted).

US West SC Ladder. I am on Australia time so you might not see me much. I have a L57 necro and am going to make a start on Act V soon. NM ancients oh boy I can't wait

EDIT: Whoops, changed that to US West.

Man, I must be the only person who doesn't concentrate on builds and MF crap

I just like to kill dudes and find some awesome treasure occasionally, not max out my damage dealing and chance to find some super unique item

You sound like a dude that I want to play D3 with when it comes out. As I've mentioned before, I have a problem where I'm killing skeletons and bam suddenly the other four people are now traveling to act 2.

I really hope they leave MF gear out of D3. Equipping it only means I don't get to have as much fun and not using it always leaves me wondering what could have been.

I think they at least said something like they're changing how that sort of stuff works, so maybe you won't need MF stuff.

But yeah, it seems like a lot of dudes here optimize their characters to the extreme and then just do meph runs over and over to get good stuff, which doesn't sound like fun to me.

I guess it depends on how you play. If you regularly play with other people to back you up, then your character doesn't need to be some twinked cookie cutter build. But if you spend a lot of your game time solo (me) then your character needs to be able to handle the end-game shit which is very hard. Otherwise you have this character that can go most of the way but not quite, and you feel a little frustrated as a result.

And once you have a decent MF character you can work on picking up items to make some seriously fun builds. I used to have a bowazon with strafe and pierce, and equipped an Ice bow. Fires half a dozen arrows in rapid succession, each arrow hits and has a high chance to cause a frost nova, as well as a chance to pass through the monster and cast another frost nova. It felt good.
