So, I have some English questions for you guys:

Former and Ladder... how does this work? Like if I said, "Thin or fat; I preffer the ladder". Which one does it refer to?

Also, the word Guise, does it have a negative connotation? Like, if I am doing something, but I really have a secret agenda or secondary motives. The dictionary just says "External appearance".

Former and latter, meaning one the first and the second, or one that came before and one that came after.

"Thin or fat", thin being the former and fat being the latter.

"The Bush administration and the Obama adminstration had different views on taxes - the former lowering and the latter raising them."

"Guise" has a connotation sometimes of not being the true appearance, like a disguise, although that's not technically correct. That's why we have the word "disguise".

But you would say "He came in under the guise of being technically savvy" which suggests that he isn't really isn't savvy at all, it was just the front he was putting up. Because of that, the "two-facedness" of it gives it the stigma.

    Ah! Now I know!

Unfortunately my MOS doesn't get used much in Iraq these days, so I'm serving a combat artist/photographer billet right now.

Man, I just blew things up from far, far away. Demo is much too personal for my tastes.

So, I have a chance to be hired for a series of 3 (!) adventure games. I am to work on a test page today, of a cute, sexy paranormal investigator type chick.

Gahh, I just want to get my foot in the door.

Ooh, this sounds pretty fun. :D I love adventure games, I've always wanted to write one of my own. Fingers crossed!

Today's a good day, may have found an apartment to buy, had strawberry pastry, went out to dinner. So I'm a year older now, but eh, I'll live.

Interesting side point, those are the M198s at the beginning and Fort Sill is where I trained on them. I hate that place.

Apparently he used to be someone cool, but now he just gets all melodramatic about grenade launchers.

When he goes into that hushed dramatic tone, or puts on his "super serial" voice, I want to strangle him.

Has OSHA gotten into the military, Maximas?

I! Will! Be! Productive! Today! It will happen!

I will clean my room and maybe finish my turnaround. I should really work on finishing the Gun Girl thing, too. And then get an interior environment started. And then win the lottery. And buy a hundred puppies.

This isn't, like "draw a free test page for us to let us know if we should hire you or not" right? Because if it is, you should really skip it.

Hehe, no. But I did have to look that up before I could answer.

I mean we're required to wear eye-pro OUTSIDE of the wire. Not on base, walking to the chow hall. But... that's the fucking Army for ya.

I have already taken Franklin for a nice long walk, taken my car to get detailed, and started trimming the stupid tree-bush in my back patio...now its time for some weed pulling and then some digital illustration streaming before class!

Also you should stream while you are working so I can watch it.

Taking out loans and loans and loans through myself and my parents, and therefore burying myself in a debt I won't be able to pay my way out of for ten or so years. That's about how everyone does it.

Living off of loans that I'll have to pay back, at 150% of the original cost. It blows. Also, $15k/yr scholarship...though that seems like a drop in the bucket to me, especially since being off-campus for 2 years will bring that down to $10k/yr those two years.

Also: is there a reason why drinking coffee seems to actually brighten up my mood? Lately, when I've drunk enough coffee to have the energy effects...I've also felt much happier, more motivated, and more optimistic. What the hell? I seriously doubt this is some psychosomatic effect. Does this happen to anybody else, or do you guys just get the whole "boost of energy" thing? I'm not a very experienced coffee drinker, so I dunno.

hah, man, yeah....that's the only thing that calms me down about the amount of debt I've racked up, I think....I imagine all the other students my age that have loans like mine, and/or worse. My debt scares the shit out of me sometimes, but when I hear about what other people have gotten themselves into, I find that my debt may be the median amount among the typical student. And that, that is scary.
