eh. goes to show their data mining techniques. would be much easier to just search for the destroid destroyer perk, but hey, that doesn't proc for all the stuff you can do to "help out," such as distracting assassin droids while others fight the big guy.
so I'm thinking of trying dex/ego with regen. melee EB, laser shield/laser knight, some melee attack (probably chainsaw), two gun mojo, bullet ballet, ice shield, and some other ranged stuff, mostly munitions with the killer instinct inate passive. ice shield will be my main sheild, and laser shield just for the auto use when melee'ing.
I'd like to know that it worked, though. I helped defeat three or four Mega-Destroids and nothing happens save for getting a little resource. I'm not even getting XP from these things.
Considering every open beta character gets wiped tomorrow, I don't think the XP value for Mega-Destroids was high up on Cryptic's to do list. :P

Destroid Destroyer might be for the open mission that is always on in MC?

Were you bumped up to level 40 at the time? Because I'm fairly sure you don't get exp once you're at the level cap....

i've recieved it one one character at the open mission yesterday, one character at the powerhouse during the event, and one character at the city hall during the event
so did you get to log in as one of those bots or what?
one thing that upsets me is that you can't pick more than one energy builder. yes, i'd like to spend another power point to have two energy builders, let me. i want one melee and one ranged
The Destroid Destroyer perk is entirely unrelated to the event, it is just a counter for how many destroids you have killed like Rustler for Burnside ghosts and such.

I was fooling around yesterday and noticed you can use your achievement point ingame to purchase new costumes from achievements you've completed. Cool idea, I like it.

Does Ice Shield have some kind of special advantage, other than chill? If not, you might be better off going with Energy Shield once it's working properly. The innate property is supposed to be that the block resistance lingers for a few seconds after you stop blocking, though as far as I know it's never actually worked.
Due to high demand, we’ve only got 1000 Lifetime subscriptions and 500 discounted 6 Month subscriptions left, so make sure you grab them before it’s too late! You can check out our current offers at our exclusive specials page. Once we’ve run out of 6 Month subscriptions, you’ll still be able to purchase them, but at their standard price of $77.94 (that’s a savings of $12 from the normal month to month rate). There are no current plans to offer another Lifetime subscription plan, so if you’ve been on the fence about it, now’s the time to buy it!

I already am getting energy shield, i just named it laser shield. what's bad about chill effect? if I'm blocking I get some choices:
Electric = Return Damage
Force = Energy Gain
Ice = Chill
Energy = Nothing, can be used while meleeing (also lingering damage redux, not block)
Tele = Nothing, Lingering Front Block
Might = Dmg Buff for 1 attack, knockback while blocking 1 per 10 sec
Darkness = Gets better the longer you block
Magic = Nada, lingers non-physical blocking
Out of all of those, I feel giving a ton of enemies a chill effect debuff would be the best for enemies.

so if my impression of this game is right, you start off with no energy then wail on them with your basic attack for a while then fire off other attacks?
or is it that you start with full energy, wail on em with everything, then have to use the basic to get it back up again?

I am so remaking my telepath character when live starts. Quite a number of AoE's, and the basic psi blast power is a nuke when charged.
I plan to make the word xavier into a verb for this character.

It depends on your Equilibrium, which is the default point that your blue bar is full to use your big attacks.
Your Equilibrium is based on your Recovery stat.

You get some energy and it takes like two seconds to start filling up your energy bar so you can use bigger attacks. That's the case with my force character, at least. I also need to enter my energy form in order to use my biggest attacks due to the energy costs (energy form reduces energy costs significantly). The Energy Refraction advantage for force characters is awesome for this. I enter my energy form every five to ten seconds so I'm able to use an attack like Force Cascade as often as I would the Force Blast at lower levels.

Nothing wrong with chill, but the min-maxer in me says that lingering resistance would mesh better with regeneration.
Incidentally, the lingering block with energy shield does work. I used it on my flame character (I even tinted it red so it looks like a flame shield. So awesome.) and would block for a second while getting hammered by those nuke-bots, and would continue to block their attacks while I charged up Pyre, dooming them to Hell.

what if you get killed and come back and its already dead? so long as you get a resource reward, does it count?
