When I was younger I watched this cartoon version of Aladdin. It was a movie. It was definitely older than the disney version (or at least much lower quality of animation).
I've found several on youtube and the internets but they're all much more cartoony and child-oriented than I remember this one being.
What I remember from the movie:
- Aladdin eating some sort of peach too fast and having to thump his chest to get it to go down. He was sitting with his mother.
- The genie(s) being gigantic and at one point Aladdin is riding around on his back. I think there was more than one and they were quite menacing. I think one was from the lamp and another from a ring, closer to the original story.
- Aladdin and the princess in a giant maze-like castle with cogs and giant mechanical rooms. I think he was trying to save her.
- The castle sinking into the sand and they had to escape it.
- I think at one point the princess tries to trade the lamp away for a nicer lamp.
I know it's a difficult description as the story is a bazillion years old and so many of the plot points are consistent within several different versions. Also there is a chance that it wasn't even called Aladdin, even though it's clearly the Aladdin story.
Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about or have stronger google-fu than I?

He is. The original story is set in China and Aladdin is specifically Chinese.
Although everyone has an Arabic name and is a Muslim. Oh that wacky Antoine Galland.
Really? I had no idea. It all seems so Arabian. I had no idea he was supposed to be chinese. Or is he supposed to be Arabian but in china? Im so confused.

sorry i couldn't find it anywhere else online
i skimmed through quickly (conserving my precious bandwidth) and there was definitely at least one scary-looking huge genie, and a princess being rescued from a huge castle that sunk into the sand as they escaped!
