If you are new to Dungeons and Dragons or new to fourth edition D and D the RPGA has three wonderful gaming choices to offer you at PAX this year! Joining the RPGA is free and you can come see me, Michelle, at Headquarters to sign you up! Your information will not be given to solicitors, but you will get free things sent to you in the mail like miniatures and gaming cards.
D&D For Beginners (D&D 4e)
Never tried out D&D before, but have wanted to learn? Let our helpful staff teach you the basics of play, and head into your first dungeon! We will have the character generator set up on our computers. You can make a first level character and print it out for free! This game will run anywhere from two to four hours. If you would like to do things the old fashioned way you can borrow a Player's Handbook from our lending library as well.
Dungeon Delve: Descent Into Vile Darkness (D&D 4e)
Honest folk tremble as fell beasts and evil hearts stir a new in the sewers and caverns below. Will your hero stand strong against the vile tide, or become another carcass in the dark?
A 3rd level D&D Dungeon Delve, with characters provided. Get as far as you can in one hour, and play as often as you like to earn prizes! This is the perfect just walk up and play adventure, but you must choose a pre-generated character, you don't get to make your own.
Living Forgotten Realms Open Play (Living Forgotten Realms - D&D 4e)
Players are responsible for mustering themselves and finding a DM. Any one-round adventure currently available can be played. Come see one of us at RPGA headquarters to check out a box with an adventure and everything you will need to play a module. This is like a library check out, so please return the box as soon as you are done so the next group can check it out. Supplies are limited.

If you don't have tickets, you're not getting in.
Also, how far can anyone get in ONE hour with a 4th edition game and unfamiliar characters? Seems a little silly.
That's kind of the point. Think of it as shotput-style D&D: the goal isn't to get all the way to the end, but rather to get as far as you can. They did it at PAX last year, and people seemed to have fun with it. It's also replayable, and the one hour rounds keep the line moving.
I'd steer clear of the Ultimate Delve, though. That's the five hour "complete six encounters with no extended rest" module. Rumor has it that it is an exercise in endurance and frustration, so it's more for the "D&D IS SERIOUS BUSINESS" crowd.

Yea, seriously, there are not even tickets at the door. Awesome me for forgetting to get tickets before I went out of town for the week...and procrastinating 5months to begin with...
