So I want to know the average cost of a train ride.

Out of state then back to the original station. Maybe just a private cart room for 2.

I have never done it before and would like to try it. I just need an idea of how much and peoples experiences while on the trains/

    I just want to go out of state from Indiana to one of the surrounding states

    i.e. Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky

    Still, not knowing exactly where you're talking about, it's hard to give an answer.

    Try some searches on Greyhound. You can just quote tickets without purchasing them, just like airlines.
