Pick-up Sandboxing: Beyond the Tomb of the Ape King
I'm going to try and pick this up again over the next couple of weeks. Interested people should get themselves into the IRC channel (info in OP) and when we have a few players I'll run something.
Did you guys use the core rules stat generation, or the ones in the quick character guide?
One says to roll dice, the other uses a pre-generated array.
EDIT: also, if generating stats by dice roll, would you roll 1d6 for each selected stat? Or would you roll 4d6 and allocate the results among the 4 chosen stats?

I'd quite like to have a short "Session 0" before running this game. Just to run through a few things with you and get a better sense for the characters. Probably nothing more than an hour with maybe a small bit of actual play, mostly for those new to the system.
I should be in the channel around 9pm GMT tonight if either of you can make it, as well as any other interested folks.
So, how combat heavy is this campaign going to be? I am concerned for the safety of my familiar. Are they supposed to be as dainty as mine? I guess he is just a little monkey.
I wouldn't expect your monkey to tank for you or anything. Probably best to keep him out of trouble but he's not completely defenseless or anything, with Grace 3.
What I've got planned is a roughly mapped area of a world with different things scattered throughout. There are combat and non-combat opportunities, I'd say. So far the characters look pretty suitable for what players have gotten up to before.
In terms of time for a potential launch, how would 9pm GMT tomorrow (Tuesday) be for you people? I'd have a couple of hours to spare so could at least kick things off with a short session.
Edit: Failing Tuesday I could do Wednesday or Thursday at the same times too.
My current engagement is actually like 50/50 so if it falls through I'll check the channel at the planned time. If we have some players we'll go, but don't wait around for me or anything.
Apologies for the lateness but a big thanks to guys who showed for the game this week. I hope it helped every get to grips with the system so we can have a more substantial session next time. It's likely to be a similar time next week and info will be posted in here as soon as I know.
