So my friend has a 80GB BC PS3 for $250, that he wants to sell me and my live-in girlfriend. In addition, he would knock off $25 if we sold him her slim PS2. We would go 50/50 and it would be roughly $107.50 for us each.
She is on the fence about it, how can I get her to turn the corner. She is super sentimental towards the thing.
If she does want to buy it, can I erase my friends profile and start a new one or is it like the 360 where there are different profiles.
$250 for a used PS3? That strikes me as a pretty poor deal when you can get a new slim model with a larger hard drive for $299 brand new. If he's including some games and/or accessories of decent value, then cool. If he's using you to finance his upgrade to a PS3 Slim, I'd say no sale.

The 80gb model has BC, the PSlim3 doesn't - of course, if he's got a PS2 Slim and is keeping it, that becomes a bit of a moot point.
But good argument. If you're just planning to play PS3 games on your PS3 and play PS2 games on the PS2, just pay $50 + the taxes more and get a shiny new Slim with a warranty.

Looking for a DX:HR OnLive code for my kid brother.

Not all 80GB models have BC. When the 40/80GB sku's were out the 80 did have software BC, but the 80GB in the 80/160 sku's have no BC at all.
(fucking sony and their 900 sku's and jerking around on BC)

It may be worth you and your girlfriend running some searches on your favourite PS2 games and how they will work before you ditch the PS2 slim altogether.
What are the download points for the Playstation Network and how much is each point equal to?
Also how many points are these games:
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Braid
Castle Crashers
Watchmen: The End Is Nigh parts I and II
1. There are no points, it's cash.
2. Is that out yet, 360 exclusive, 360 exclusive, don't know.
Point 2 is incorrect. Braid and Castle Crashers are both coming to the PSN soon. There are no dates but they have both been officially announced to be released.

Yes, you can totally erase the PS3, but you'll lose any downloaded content/saved games. It's easy as pie.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
$250 isn't too shabby for the PS3, though.
