Section 8 is a new FPS coming to the 360(No PS3 it seems) and PC in about 2 days if STEAM isn't full of lies and chicanery.

Why could it be interesting, and why would I play this over HALO ODST?
-Its more like Tribes then like Halo, so you are more customizable, more maneuverable, and can call in support units like turrets, tanks (that more then one person can ride in), and mech suits.
-Maps are based around capturing locations and killing others for points. One big divergence from this is that while playing a map, your squad can cause mini-missions to pop up, that if completed score you some bonus points. So you might all be attacking Foundry A, when a VIP is discovered that needs escorting to Landing Pad C, so some players will need to support the VIP while the rest hold the line, breaking up the monotony.
-No spawn points, you literally drop in from space toward the play area, with control over where you are headed, flipping around and using your suits thrusters to slow your landing. There is Anti-Air near enemy controlled points, but from the video it seems if you are good enough at dodging you can avoid it (though human opponents can also shoot at you!). So you can launch flanking manuevers and surprise attacks.
-Looks to have an unlock system like COD4, so you get not just new weapons but also skills to customize your character even more.
-How maneuverable you are is crazy, sprinting is very fast and the added jetpack for doing long distance jumps and such make things feel like Tribes at 2x speed, or maybe Tribes if you were skiing most of the time.
-AI bots for practice/screwing around/filling out the server for small lan parties. Maybe not important to everyone, but I liked playing against bots in the BF1942 and so on series just for fun when servers were full or empty. It's also nice for LAN parties when you only have 8 players but a large map to put in some AI to make it feel more populated.
Things I wish we knew more about:
-Character customization, we know very little except that its there.
-Number of maps at launch.
-Editing tools and server tools.
So far I'm interested, but I'd really like to see a demo come out first before I throw cold hard monies at it.

I was looking at the multiplayer preview at Gamespot, the game looks to be a mix of Battlefield and Tribes all meshed together.
I'm a sucker for sci fi multiplayer, and this games got both mechs AND jumpjets + 32 player online. Looks like the game has a ticket counter style online play similar to Battlefield.
Anyone else jumping in on this?

I played the demo abit two days ago and I really enjoyed the game. With that said I think it's going to be similar to Chromehounds, Shadowrun and Frontlines -- A small hardcore community that plays the game for a long time to come.
Alot of people just don't "get" the game. The long TTK's (time to kill) immediately killed off half the potential audience (not a bad thing in my opinion), who couldn't understand why they can't go Rambo in the game and be successful. The game screams "Teamwork".
I really like the customizability of one's loadouts. Playing around with passives (shield/armour/ammo/auto lock on/etc) is going to be alot of fun for me personally.
