ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE SPYWARE HELP NEEDED

my main computer is infected with an extremely nasty piece of spyware called Total Security 2009

it masquerades as anti-spyware, stops you from opening any .exe's and after 20 hours systematically deletes your harddrive piece by fucking piece

and I have no idea how to stop it

I can't even open task manager to kill the process and buy some time

the computer's off right now and I can disconnect it from the internet if needed

but I need help, and I need it soon

    The worst virus I had was this weird one that would create copies of whatever EXE I ran and hide them in a system folder of the windows directory

    it would make a new copy every time I ran a program, so eventually I ran out of hard disk space

    Seriously, I'd probably reformat unless there's something you absolutely have to keep on your hard drive

    nuke it from orbit

    my screenplay, which I just finished the first draft of

    it's backed up on PDF but I don't know if I can translate it back to the format I need without retyping everything

    also I've never reformatted before and have no idea how I'd go about doing such a thing
