Opera Unite
Opera Unite is a project from the guys at Opera which allows the users to really get the most out of their internet experience.
Unite offers the ability to share files, listen to music with friends, chat with your friends, host your own website and more.
Essentially turning your computer into a server in a sense. Here are videos to get you going -

Note: Currently you can only use Opera Unite on the Beta Version of Opera Browser 10.00. Unite will be included in the next release of Opera, Version 10.10.
Because Unite turns your computer into a server you're going to want to be prepared for bandwidth
usages when using some of the heavier services like Media Streaming, File Sharing and Website hosting.
If you're interested, make your way here
http://unite.opera.com/ and give it a try.
While you need Opera to operate your own Unite page, your friends can access the services with their browser of choice.
These are the bigger services Opera Unite can offer you.
File Sharing
The Opera Unite File Sharing service is simply the easiest way to share files from your computer. There is no need to worry about attaching loads of files to e-mails, or about single files being too large to send by e-mail. You don't have to sign up for third-party file sending applications, or set up an FTP service. All you need to do is send your friends the unique URL and they can instantly see your files. As we said. Simple.
Fridge (Sticky Notes)
A fun place for people to leave notes on your computer.
Friends and family will love leaving notes on your fridge. It's open to all and you get a notification when someone writes a note.
- Mom posts a note, "Dentist appointment at 2:30 - Don't forget!"
- Your roommate writes, "We need milk!" and you use the fridge as your shopping list with Opera Mini while in the store
- Your niece says, "I miss you! Come visit us soon!"
As the service owner, you can delete notes, turn off posting, limit the total number of notes so that it doesn't get too full, or disable and enable this service whenever you want. Other people can also delete their own posts.
Media Player
Access your complete home music library from wherever you are.
Run the Opera Unite Media Player at home and access your entire music library from anywhere you might be. No need to duplicate your music on different machines.
Photo Sharing
Share your personal photos with friends around the world without the need to upload them.
Simply the easiest way to share photos from your computer, this service turns a folder full of photos on your computer into a fully-functional photo gallery in an instant.

Invite your friends to a chat in The Lounge hosted on your computer.
Set up a chat server, aka The Lounge, on your computer, without any need for third-party Web sites or desktop applications.
